Nella giornata di venerdì 4 marzo 2022, alle ore 8:45 italiane, è stata trasmessa in simultanea in molti paesi d’Europa la canzone Give Peace a Chance di John Lennon e Yoko Ono. 150 radio europee hanno deciso di partecipare a questa iniziativa in sostegno alle città colpite dalla terribile guerra che la Russia ha intentato all’Ucraina, seminando sgomento, dolore, terrore. La scelta è ricaduta su questa canzone, incisa dalla coppia nel 1969 per Plastic Ono Band, poiché le sue note presto si trasformarono in un inno per il movimento pacifista americano, che oggi diventa l’inno per la pace in Ucraina. Ma tante sono state le canzoni che hanno lanciato messaggi pacifisti, fra cui “Sunday bloody Sunday” degli U2.
